With the publication of Together, Emma Dodd has added another beautiful book to her baby animals series.

A mommy otter and a baby otter spend the day together. They watch the sunrise, laze about in the sea, practise diving, laugh and play. They delight in each other’s company and cherish their time together.  The story has a very calm, contented feel to it and it would make perfect bedtime reading.

This hardback Nosy Crow edition has a lovely padded cover. The title and the reflections on the water glisten in silver. This silver sparkling water is a feature inside the book too, and it’s really eye-catching. The illustrations are a treat to look at, especially with the use of silver foil to pick out the reeds at the water’s edge, the ripples in the sea and the stars in the sky.
