Mac and Bob and the Party Problem by Alan Windram & Dave Sutton

Published by Little Door Books, 2016.

Mac the farmer has been invited to a party. He’s very excited but, unfortunately, there’s a problem – all of his clothes are dirty and so he has nothing to wear. He and his dog, Bob, gather up all of the dirty clothes and put them in the washing machine. Mac looks out of the window and is pleased to see that it is a blustery day – his clothes will dry quickly on the washing line. Yet when they go outside to fetch the washing in there are no clothes left on the washing line! The wind has blown them all across the farm.

This is a very entertaining story. Children will laugh when Mac starts running about in his underwear (a rather fetching all-in-one). There are also lots of giggles to be had seeing where all of Mac’s laundry has ended up. The windy scenes with chickens and sheep being blown through the air are pretty comical too.

There’s also an accompanying CD. On it there’s an audio version of the book, three songs which feature in the story, and the Hokey Cokey.

Rating: 💙💙💙💙

Suitable for children aged 3+
